Archiving images from 2012 and realized I have never blogged this session!  This family wanted to do their session at grandpa’s ranch down in Sedalia.  I love when families have a place that is special to them, and want to incorporate that into their session.  Their two sweet boys were in heaven…they LOVE IT there.  It was so fun to watch.  What boy wouldn’t want access to a John Deer tractor and free roaming goats?   There was even a little “saloon” on the property!  My hope is that they will look back on these pictures and remember their boys growing up here, and the times they shared here as family.

….is why I love my job.  Stay tuned for more “best of summer” images!

Realizing I haven’t blogged since April.  Whoa.  Sorry.  May is such a nightmare-any other moms agree with me?  It’s almost as bad as December.  Field Day, end of year this and that, bbq’s, dance recitals.  We are ready for some summer downtime and it starts on Saturday when we head to the beach!  Anyway….

One of the many things I love about my job, is watching children grow.  One minute they are a tiny baby and then the next they are running around, conversing with me, and talking about which princess they love.  With this family, it was even more special because I was able to reconnect with them after they moved away from Colorado.  We’ve now had 2 sessions in Central Park, NYC.  I love being able to go back to the old image files and see the changes, but yet that same face, still there.  And I wanted to share this photo history with you here…

Hello!

March 2, 2012

Well hello.  And here it is March.  I can’t believe it!

Lots of good things happening…working on my materials for high school seniors!  Will be announcing promos and pricing very soon.  I am on the preferred list at Mountain Vista and Heritage this year…so if you know someone at one of those schools, look for me!

Been keeping up diligently with my Project 366 on Instagram and I even created a Tumblr site you can check out here!

Going to post this entire session next week but for now I thought I’d share this:

I was there for an in-home lifestyle newborn session with baby brother and could.not.resist sister on this white bed.

Happy Friday all…I’m headed to the mountains with some wonderful friends.  P.S. I don’t ski.  But you can guarantee there is some wine & shopping & snowshoeing in my future!

Until next week….Lisa

Captured at home…

January 30, 2012

Clients often ask me why they would want an in-home session vs. a location session. And I thought I would share this session to illustrate. I was contacted by this Denver family to photograph their two littles (and I mean little, and very close in age) at home. Why? Because they are just barely over a year apart. Because they feel most comfortable at home. Because they felt if we took them to a location we would get 2 very quiet, deer in the headlights children…as opposed to 2 running around, smiling, playing children. And so…I present to you, this glimpse into the life:

This family chose the collection which included an album. I think this is the best way to truly tell the story of our session together.

These are my favorite kinds of sessions. Being able to witness a family together, in their own environment, playing and interacting. Such a gift to be allowed to capture this.
