Well a year has gone by, this was also the week 1 theme and I have discovered…I am still not good at self portraits! Like 1000 terrible, blurry, ridiculous images and I managed to scrape together these two.

I can’t believe this project is over. I can’t believe I stuck with it for the entire year (yes, I skipped a week here and there, but for the most part stuck with it!). It was so great to get a sneak peek into the lives of the other ladies in our circle…gals who I never would have known otherwise. They all became “virtual” friends…and I will miss them!

I will not be doing a project 52 in 2012…instead I am trying a new project 10 on 10 which will occur on the 10th of every month. A tiny bit less commitment. I am also doing a project 365 on Instagram…if you are on Instagram…I’m lgturner. If you are not on Instagram…well you are just missing out! All the cool kids are doing it.

project 52 | week 51 | family

December 30, 2011

A few snapshots from Christmas this year.

Last year, being my first Christmas alone, was tough. You can read more about that here. This year was different. I got a real tree! And my Dad flew here from Florida, and it was so great to have him here.

This year, I’ve realized that my friends are also my family. It is my friends who have supported me all year long, some of whom are pictured here. I wouldn’t be where I am right now without them.

project 52 | week 50 | toys

December 23, 2011

I was in New York.
My plan was to go to FAO Schwartz and really photograph some toys.
FAO Schwartz is very crowded at Christmastime. There is a line around the building just to get in. Scrapped that plan.
Was also going to go ice skating.
Ice skating is very crowded at Christmastime. I think all of humanity was at Rockefeller Center. Scrapped that plan too.
Took this picture outside of American Girl for my girls to see…
And hey, it’s toys!

Despite the crowds I still think NYC at Christmas is something everyone should experience once…if only to see the Lady Gaga store windows at Barney’s, where in one window everything was made out of hair. Yes…hair. Better than meat, I suppose.

project 52 | week 49 | cold

December 16, 2011

Well here in Colorado, the sun is (almost) always shining…which gives the illusion that it is warmer than it actually is. Today was nice, I did go for a walk, but still ice and snow everywhere. Here is what I captured outside today. High of 37.

I can’t believe this yearly project is almost over…wondering what to do next year, I would like to embark on a photo journey of some sort. But maybe something monthly…this weekly thing was hard!!! As you can tell…I’ve skipped a few weeks, somewhere around July I kinda fell off the train.

Anyway-the theme this week was whimsy. What in the world do we do with that? I thought, well holiday decs are whimsical so why not photograph some of the fun items I have up in my house. I love how putting up the decs makes the house feel cozy and festive, no matter where I’m living…which keeps changing, last year I was in an apartment. I hope next year will find me in the “permanent” spot.

On and yes these are total iphone photos, processed with the shake it photo app. You didn’t expect me to get out the REAL camera, did you? I mean, we are at the end of busy season. I’m kinda ignoring my camera right now.

And dog with lights? Of course!
