For 2017, I am going to start highlighting some of the lovely families who are part of my A Year in the Life plan.  This plan is totally customizable–you only need a minimum of 2 sessions to create a plan.  Pick only the sessions you want!  All first year plan members receive a gorgeous 10×10 hardcover album at the end, telling the story of baby’s first year.

This family celebrated the birth of their third child by choosing newborn, 6 month and 1 year sessions.

Newborn–October 2015

All of my newborn sessions are done in-home.  My goal is to capture LIFE at this time.  If you are looking for a posed, sleeping newborn-I am probably not the photographer for you!  If you desire authentic family interactions-you’ve come to the right place.

and yes-I happily photograph siblings while baby is being fed!

Stay tuned for the next post in this series–Brooke’s summertime 6 month session!

Every year in September, I am honored to be a photographer at the Children’s Museum of Denver’s Say Cheese event!  Since I was there last year, they have made some awesome improvements, both indoors and out!  The expanded outdoor space gave us so many new fun spots for shooting.  Here’s a sampling of the three fabulous families I worked with that day!

Hello all and Happy New Year!

This is the time of year for photographers when we want to organize alllllll the things.  And if you saw my office come December, you would understand why.  Time to evaluate the year, what worked, what didn’t, just an overall refresh.  I love the potential January holds!

One thing I do that totally works is photograph my daughters’ birthday parties.  Not the actual “party” per se-but rather a birthday photo shoot.  I love it, they love it-it’s truly a win-win. This is my younger daughter’s 13th birthday, last year.  This year, we will be doing something similar to what we did for my older daughter’s 14th-you can check that HERE.

If you are ever scratching your head, wondering what the heck to do for your teenage daughter’s birthday, look no further.  All they really want is a photo shoot, and a sleepover.  Give me a shout and let’s chat about the details!

The year is flying by folks–I can’t believe I am already getting inquiries for FALL.  Say wha?  If you are interested in a fall session-know that fall weekends will be released July 1. Newsletter subscribers know first–so if you aren’t on the list, get on it!  Just pop your email into the little box to your right.

I still have not even scratched the surface of sharing sessions from last fall-so busy, so many wonderful families.  Like this one-these guys found me many moons ago, in a facebook sidebar ad (remember those?)..and what a serendipitous relationship it has turned out to be!   She is now working for my fave organization NAPCP as their editorial manager.  Over the years, I’ve come to know their gorgeous daughter Maile, who when she was a baby, thought I was a scary stranger.  I had to work hard to get those smiles!  Then at our last session-she brought me a picture!  I love building relationships with children over the years-where they know me so well, ask about Miss Lisa and actually look forward to the photo session! Little brother is just starting to embrace me…but he will come around!  They all do…it’s the treasure box at the end I think…

These guys are just all around good people-so nice to be around, and such a loving family.  And the matching mother-daughter outfits?  No words. 🙂  Here are a few from our beautiful afternoon at Ken Caryl.

These are beyond gorgeous Lisa! People better get signed up fast for your fall sessions.

School photos-the forced smiles, the stiff poses, the tacky backgrounds.  No one actually LIKES their child’s school photos, but we buy them anyway.  We’ve just come to accept the mediocre photos as the norm.  It doesn’t have to be this way!  My motto here  at Lisa Turner Photography is always WHAT IF.  What if school pictures could be better?  What if your child’s school picture could be something you actually wanted to display?  {instead of sticking in a drawer for all eternity.}   What if that school picture actually captured your child as they are?  What if the school picture background could be classic, and timeless?

And so I present Lisa Turner Photography Boutique School Portraits.

Thank you so much to my lovely clients who provided me with the cutest models ever for my marketing materials:

I am putting packets together as we speak that will be delivered to preschools across the metro area.  Have a school that you think would benefit from better pictures? Let me know!  I would love to get in contact with them.

Until next time–Lisa
