this is fourteen

YES.  My blog is back up and running!  And for my first post in quite some time, I want to share my daughter and her friend’s 14th birthday party-which we did a few weeks ago. When your daughter turns 14, you are kind of tapped out of birthday ideas.  We have done it all.   But in the Instagram-centric world of teens…pictures are king.  So I had an idea-what if we hired a makeup artist to make these girls feel really pretty & special, and then do a photo shoot?  And so we did.

One of the benefits of my shared studio space The Studio is a fantastic collaboration of not just photographers.  We have makeup artists, massage therapists, life coaches…so I knew where to look to find a makeup artist for us!   Sara Duffey was so sweet with the girls and her attention to detail was unbelieveable.  She worked so hard to make sure each girl looked their best!

On to the pictures…

My daughter was lucky enough to be a party attendee. She loved the make-up session, but what made her feel truly beautiful and special were your photos. You are an artist, Lisa…not just snapping photos, but capturing people’s hearts and displaying them so beautifully. Thank you.

Love it! You could start a party business on the side!

[…] One thing I do that totally works is photograph my daughters’ birthday parties.  Not the actual “party” per se-but rather a birthday photo shoot.  I love it, they love it-it’s truly a win-win. This is my younger daughter’s 13th birthday, last year.  This year, we will be doing something similar to what we did for my older daughter’s 14th-you can check that HERE. […]
